Fourth Avenue houses over a dozen nightlife leisure spots, from food to bars, from dancing to live bands. Events such as the world renowned 4th Ave Street Fair and Bicycle Swap Meet event are just a few great events to grace their presence on the historis Fourth Avenue.
Formed in 1974 the Fourth Avenue Merchants Association (FAMA) is a non-profit organization comprised of member merchants from the Fourth Avenue Historic Shopping District. FAMA has a long history of benefiting the whole community and each Street Fair some 30 nonprofit or service organizations are given space at the Fair and allowed to utilize the Fair to raise money and/or distribute information on their causes. These FAMA contributions amount to some $70,000 per year that go to other nonprofit/service organizations or directly to those in need.

Main Gate Square has some history and dates way back starting in 1922. Don't let the date fool you. La Encantada
